Baby and child passport photo at home
Children need their own passport photo, with the same 2×2 rules. At home you can take it whenever your child is calm, and retake as often as you need.
A parent or legal guardian must take or upload a child's photo and give consent on the child's behalf.
One-time purchase, no subscription. You see your checked photo before you pay.
Not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or any government agency. We don't submit applications; government fees are separate.

How to do it
- 1
Lay your baby on their back on a plain white sheet, or sit an older child in front of a plain white wall
- 2
Take the photo straight on, with no hands, toys or pacifier in the shot and nobody else in the photo
- 3
See the check, retake if needed, then download
You download a digital photo file sized for online applications; the complete option adds a 4×6 print sheet.
Tips that help with little ones
- Pick a time after a nap or a feed
- Light from a window in front of the child avoids shadows on the face and the sheet
- Hold the phone directly above a lying baby, parallel to the sheet
Good to know
- Your photo is checked against the main U.S. Department of State photo requirements (size, head position, background, glasses, expression, lighting) before you pay
- Take it at home in minutes with your phone
- We never digitally alter your face or background - we only crop and size your photo to the required 2×2 inch size
- Acceptance is decided by the passport agency and is not guaranteed
- Not affiliated with the U.S. Department of State or any government agency
Questions
Does my baby's photo follow the same rules?
Yes. Children's passport photos follow the same size and background rules, and the check runs the same way. The agency makes the final decision.
Who can take and upload a child's photo?
A parent or legal guardian must take or upload a child's photo and give consent on the child's behalf.
My baby won't look at the camera. What now?
Try again when they are calm. The check tells you which rule did not pass, so you know what to change before you retake.
